Nominate a technologist or organization for a $50,000 Technology Museum of Innovation Award. The San Jose, California-based Tech Museum of Innovation encourages and solicits nominations from anyone who can identify a worthy candidate, including self-nominations for innovators from around the world who are applying technology to improve the human condition in the categories of education, equality, environment, health, and economic development. Individuals, for-profit companies, and not-for-profit organizations are eligible to apply. Awards go to individuals and organizations utilizing technology to help solve global problems. Five laureates in each category will be given $50,000 each, totaling $250,000 in awards. Nominations can be submitted online. "Digital Fellows," meaning technologists with the heart of an entrepreneur and the soul of a humanitarian, are invited to apply for the Reuters "Digital Vision Fellowships". Twelve fellowships to Stanford University, Stanford, California to spend an academic year (Sept- June) on the Stanford campus in Palo Alto, California, designing and building IT solutions for the developing world will be awarded by Reuters.

Digital Visions Fellows will draw on the resources of Stanford University and Silicon Valley to develop an ICT-based project that serves a humanitarian purpose in the developing world, working on campus to research the needs of their project, identify the best technology implementation, create proof-of-concept prototypes and develop sustainable business models. They will benefit from the academic richness of Stanford and connections between Digital Visions Fellows and Silicon Valley leaders-in technology corporations, venture finance and philanthropy.

The Albert Einstein Distinguished Educator Fellowship Program, now open for 2005-2006, offers current public or private elementary and secondary mathematics, technology, and science class­room teachers an opportunity to serve in the national public policy arena in Washington D.C. The paid fellows will receive a stipend ($5250 per month) to spend a year in Washington D.C. to give teachers a voice in Washington at many Federal agencies with science missions and with policymakers on Capitol Hill. Highly accomplished science, math, and technology teachers (K-12), with at least five years teaching experience, are encouraged to apply on-line at http://www.scied.science.doe.gov. Fellows provide practical insight in establishing and operating education programs. Fellowships increase understanding, communication, and cooperation between legislative and executive branches and the science, mathematics, and technology education community.
